Take a look at how James Make & Associates makes ordering easier

Way back when, a lot of our orders arrived via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we arrived at the office. Often, in this scenario, it might of taken quite a while to hear back to see if the order could be taken. Things are quite a bit different now and when an order is placed on the site, we get a text message on our phones. We can even log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.

When you order from James Make & Associates you can expect us to be concerned about your deadlines. We use our resources to reduce waiting between communications since the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. Through features on this website, we can actually speed up the entire appraisal process.

Using Technology in the Field

One of the most time consuming parts of an appraisal is gathering the data. We spend a lot of our time collecting both specific information about the subject property and general data about the local market and developing trends. James Make & Associates takes advantage of technology to close the gap once again.

Instead of using paper forms and pencils and then re-keying all the information back at the office, don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using an app written for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on site. And instead of using an outdated tape measure, a larger percentage appraisers are starting to use accurate laser measuring devices that also help measure hard to access areas.

Using this technology allows us to ensure that your report is accurate, requiring fewer call-backs and revisions. Our goal is to save you time and money.

Modern appraisal report delivery ensures our clients have a number of ways to get their report

At a very minimum, you can expect us to deliver your final report electronically as a PDF. Most of our clients prefer e-mail because we're all accustomed to getting attachments like PDFs in our mail. It's a lot better than the old days before e-mail. But, we've even been able to improve on e-mail with how you receive your report with this website.

Ever lost a file that was sent to you? Or have you ever had an attachment blocked because of the file size? We've come up with a solution for those problems, too.  Whenever we send an appraisal, the client is e-mailed a download link to retrieve the PDF. By bypassing email completely we can get around any problems caused by file size. And the download link is good for 90 days. So if anything happens to the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again without even calling us or waiting for us to get to a computer so we can send it again.

Lastly, we use all digital workfiles...

It would be much easier if appraisers could complete an assignment, deliver it and never worry about revisiting that document again. But one of the purposes of an appraisal is as a legal document outlining the condition of a property on a specific date. Therefore, appraisers are required by law to keep their reports for 5 years in case any disputes or other matters arise regarding the property.

To sum it all up, James Make & Associates uses all the technology at our disposal technology to improve service. We store every part of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we can pull up the entire file whenever it's needed and recall exactly what that job was about.

We just wanted to give you a little bit of insight into how we use our technology daily. Using the right software, services, gadgets and gizmos allows the appraiser to deliver reports quicker, more efficiently and with higher degrees of accuracy.
